The BWAI program

Scope

The First Benin Workshop on Artificial Intelligence (BWAI-18) will be held on March 24, 2018 at Abomey-Calavi University, Abomey-Calavi, Benin. The purpose of the BWAI workshop is to promote the development of the smart system based on artificial intelligence (AI) tools, the research and practice in artificial intelligence, and scientific exchange among AI researchers, practitioners, scientists, and engineers in affiliated disciplines. BWAI-18 will have diverse technical communications, practical sessions, student abstracts, poster sessions, invited speakers, tutorials, workshops, and exhibit and competition programs, all selected according to peer reviewing standards.

BWAI-18 welcomes submissions of original, high quality papers/communications in all areas of Artificial Intelligence, including (but not limited to) classical topics such as machine learning, deep learning, heuristics, knowledge representation, reasoning, natural language processing, robotics, chatbot, internet of thing, etc.:

  • Smart and pervasive System;
  • Computer vision, Language processing, Chatbots, Affective Computing;
  • Big data and data mining;
  • E-health, connected health, telemedicine and smart medical devices, Smart wearable technologies;
  • Smart systems and Mobile Smart applications;
  • Smart home and smart city;
  • Multi-agent systems;
  • etc.

Paper and communication submission

  • All submissions will be subject to academic peer review by at least two members of the program committee. Selection criteria include accuracy and originality of ideas, clarity and significance of results, and quality of presentation.
  • Papers/Abstract should be written in English or French, font Times 12pt. Two types of submission are allowed:
  1. short paper: 1 page maximum (abstract of the communication)
  2. regular paper: 4 pages maximum including free main parts such as: introduction, problem statement, work objectives contribution, experiments and results, conclusion and perspectives.

  • Acceptance/Reject notification: March 12, 2018
  • Camera ready: March 17, 2018
  • Author registration deadline: March 17, 2018
  • BWAI-18: March 24, 2018

Publications and special issue

  • Best communications and Accepted papers/abstracts may be published in the proceedings workshop with ISSN/ISBN number
  • Best selected papers will be invited to submit extended journal papers in special issues.
